At Sharon Amy Photography, our goal is to provide a custom, boutique experience for every family at the schools we partner with.
We’re a small local photography studio, not a large corporate operation, which means we only work with a select number of schools in Marin and San Francisco each year. This allows us to deliver exceptional service, professional communication, and artistic, high-quality images that families truly treasure.
Our approach is both personal and professional. You’ll receive the same level of organization and reliability you’d expect from a large company, but with the warmth, care, and artistry of a small local studio.
We aim to capture the true essence of each child. No forced smiles, no awkward poses, just natural, genuine expressions. The results are timeless portraits that reflect each student’s personality, far from the bright flashes and busy backdrops of traditional school photography.
We create a fun and relaxed experience where kids can simply be themselves. That’s when the real magic happens, and it shows in every image.

What services do you offer?
We provide a fully online experience from start to finish. Families receive access to secure, password-protected online galleries. Galleries are organized by grade, classroom, homeroom, advisory, or any grouping that makes sense for your school. We serve preschools, day cares, homeschool pods, kindergartens, elementary grade schools, middle schools, and high school aged children.
We provide all necessary equipment and staff for photo day. The school receives high-resolution digital files for use in yearbooks, websites, ID cards, or school marketing materials. We also handle all parent inquiries about ordering and products, so your staff doesn’t have to.
We’re happy to work with each school to provide custom services that fit your unique needs, including staff portraits and class photos.
How is Fine Art School Photography different from standard school photos?
We’re so glad you asked! Our approach is different—and we like to think, a lot better.
Each child is photographed naturally, resulting in 2–5 portraits presented in both color and black and white. Families choose the images they’d like to order, instead of being assigned one preset pose.
We offer boutique product options such as canvas gallery wraps and digital image downloads for printing and archiving. Before photo day, schools receive a detailed PDF guide outlining the photo day process and ordering details to share with families.
Prints are ordered online and delivered directly to the family within days of ordering.
How many students can you accommodate?
We’ve photographed schools as small as 20 students and as large as 300. Since 2017, we’ve photographed thousands of children from infants to high school seniors across Marin and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Are these images expensive?
Our rates are competitive, and there are no upfront costs for schools. All profits come from family orders. We offer a range of collections and à la carte options to fit every budget.
What time of year do you conduct school photo shoots?
We work with each school individually to schedule Fine Art School Photo Days at any time during the academic year.
Do you provide class photos?
Yes! If your school would like class photos, we can take them on photo day or schedule an additional visit, depending on your school’s schedule.
